Aaron Macsai’s jewelry making demands precision, care and often hours of uninterrupted work. Macsai is showcasing his work at The American Craft Exposition (ACE), presented by The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) at Evanston & Glenbrook Hospitals, with proceeds benefitting ovarian cancer research.
At ACE, Macsai will be showing his newest series of “Gold & Gemstone” bead necklaces titled “Linear Grace.” They represent fluid movement, and they are the most delicate and technically challenging jewelry he has created in the past eight years. The necklaces combine the rich elegant colors of gemstones and subtle hues of the various handmade 18k gold beads. “These pieces are like a gift of new life,” he said.
Macsai feels strongly about medical research and because of this, he will be donating a piece of his art to ACE to raise funds and help find a cure. “I can’t afford to write a large check,” said Macsai, “but I can afford to give a piece of artwork.” Purchase show raffle tickets at ACE for your chance to win this piece.
Macsai’s work has been featured in numerous publications, including several cover shots. Here is a partial list:

The American Craft Exposition (ACE), presented by The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) at Evanston & Glenbrook Hospitals does so much more than simply bring together superior artisans exhibiting one-of-a-kind, museum quality work.
ACE is also a fundraiser supporting critical ovarian cancer research at NorthShore. Artists support ACE’s funding goal by participating in the voluntary “Craft for a Cure” program and donating a percentage of a designated sale.
The following list details the artists who will be participating in “Craft for a Cure.” Please visit their booth next weekend!

This year, proceeds from ACE, including percentages from sales from Craft for a Cure, will go to helping to find a cure for ovarian cancer, often called the “silent killer” because symptoms are easy to dismiss and it’s often diagnosed too late for effective treatment. However, research from Gus Rodriguez, MD, and his team have found that using routine use of the combination estrogen-progestin oral contraceptive pill results in a remarkable 30-50 percent reduction in the risk of developing not only ovarian cancer, but also in endometrial cancer.
