Another year of magic!

Hi, Artists!

Are you ready for the 29th American Craft Exposition this year? I know I am! You know why? (And no, it’s not because I’ll be blogging for another year!)

It’s because every year, The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem at Evanston and Glenbrook Hospitals brings 150+ artisans together to exhibit one-of-a-kind, museum quality work. And if you listen closely, artists will tell you that they’re happy they’re at ACE. And I helped to make that happen.

But ACE isn’t just about beautiful pieces of art; it’s also about fundraising to support critical breast and ovarian cancer research and care at NorthShore University HealthSystem. The statistics are daunting: one in eight women will develop breast cancer and experts predict another 212,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed this year. Meanwhile, ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer deaths in women and is particularly daunting in that its often silent symptoms that make earlier diagnosis difficult.

Beautiful crafts and saving lives! That’s what ACE is all about and 2013 is no exception.

Artists, we truly wouldn’t be able to accomplish all this without you! With that, I’m proud to announce that 2013 applications are open here: http://www.juriedartservices.com/index.php?content=event_info&event_id=618&admin_verify_view=true
Remember that application dates will run from December 1, 2012 to March 1, 2013, with late application dates running from March 2 to March 15, 2013.

Happy applying and good luck to you, artists! And thank you for all you do!
